Team Lead, Site Reliability Engineering
DataSnipper
We're looking for a Team Lead, Site Reliability Engineering, to lead our SRE team in Amsterdam. You'll own the reliability, scalability, and security of our platform - enabling product teams to deliver value quickly and safely. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll set technical direction, drive engineering excellence, and grow a high-performing team.
Why DataSnipper?
DataSnipper is revolutionizing audit and finance through intelligent automation. Since our founding in 2017, we’ve grown into a $1 billion unicorn with a global footprint in over 180 countries. Our impact is rapid, real, and constantly evolving - if you want to be part of a company breaking new ground and scaling fast, this role is for you.
What You’ll Own:
Technical Leadership
- Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of highly available and scalable infrastructure on Azure
- Set and evolve the team's technical direction for CI/CD, observability, security and infrastructure-as-code
- Architect self-service tooling that empowers product teams to deploy and operate autonomously
- Own the observability strategy end-to-end—define SLIs/SLOs, enforce actionable logs, metrics, alerts, and Grafana dashboards for every service before go-live
- Champion Infrastructure as Code via Terraform—no manual changes, no ClickOps
People Leadership
- Lead the SRE team day-to-day: set priorities, provide direction, and remove blockers
- Coach and mentor engineers on reliability best practices, career growth, and technical skills
- Create a safe, inclusive environment where the team can experiment, learn, and deliver
- Provide regular, constructive feedback and drive performance through recognition and development
- Facilitate collaboration across teams, resolving friction constructively
Strategy & Execution
- Own and report on key success metrics: Provisioning Lead Time, MTTD, MTTR, Compliance Coverage, Support Toil Duration, and Planned Outage Duration
- Translate engineering strategy into clear team priorities aligned with company goals
- Prioritize work based on business impact
- Drive incident management processes and post-incident reviews
- Ensure compliance with certifications (e.g., SOC 2) and security best practices
- Coordinate with the US-based team to align workload priorities with the platform centralization strategy
What you bring:
Must-Have
- 8+ years in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering, with 2+ years leading a team
- Excellent people skills—clear communicator, effective at managing and coaching engineers, and able to translate complex technical topics for diverse audiences
- Deep expertise in a major cloud platform (AWS or GCP or Azure), including strong understanding of cloud networking, management, and security
- Proficient with AI-assisted development tools (we use Claude Code)
- Solid experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (we use Terraform)
- Proven track record with CI/CD platforms and pipeline design (we use GitHub Actions)
- Proficiency with observability and monitoring stacks (we use Grafana), including structured logging, alerting, and dashboarding
- Strong coding ability in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Go, etc.)
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with GPU infrastructure and scaling for ML workloads
- Experience in secure engineering or compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001)
- Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service infrastructure tooling
