What You Will Do:

As a Senior Back-End Engineer on the UpLink team, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our product. You’ll work closely with the founding team to build and enhance the capabilities of UpLink, delivering intuitive and high-performing experiences for our users.

Specifically, you will:

• Own the back-end development lifecycle for new features—from architecture to deployment—delivering scalable and reliable capabilities for UpLink.

• Collaborate with the team to design and implement event-driven, cloud-native backend systems that support UpLink’s document management and processing needs.

• Build and optimize APIs, including public-facing APIs, to enable seamless integrations with external systems and partners.

• Scale and enhance UpLink’s infrastructure to handle increasing volumes of documents and workflows efficiently.

• Design and implement robust data pipelines to process and analyze documents in an automated and event-driven manner.

• Maintain and improve the backend architecture, making thoughtful technical decisions in collaboration with the team to support long-term performance and reliability.

• Work closely with front-end engineers to ensure seamless API interactions and an optimal end-to-end user experience.

• Collaborate with other backend engineers across different product lines to align on best practices, architecture decisions, and shared infrastructure components.

• Drive technical excellence, implementing best practices, reviewing code, and mentoring other engineers as needed.

• Contribute to the culture of a fast-moving startup, taking initiative and helping to shape the direction of UpLink’s engineering efforts.

What You Will Bring:

We're looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Back-End Engineer, based in on the East Coast of the United States, who thrives in fast-moving environments and is passionate about building great software.

You'll be a strong fit if you have:

• 5+ years of experience working as a back-end engineer, with deep expertise in Python and Azure.

• Proven ability to thrive in fast-moving teams, delivering high-quality software independently and efficiently.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to creatively balance speed and quality-knowing when to engineer a scalable solution and when to execute quickly.

• A self-motivated and independent approach, taking ownership of your work while collaborating effectively with the team.

• A deep passion for building-constantly experimenting, learning, and refining your craft. Software development isn't just your job; it's what drives you.

• A focus on delivering real impact, prioritizing solutions that drive value for users and move the product forward.

• A collaborative mindset, eager to share knowledge, leverage components built by other teams, and contribute to a unified engineering approach.
