Job Description:

As a hybrid-remote Principal Data Modeler at Cotality, you will lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide data architecture strategies that align with the company’s long-term technology roadmap. You will define and enforce best practices for data modeling, knowledge discovery, and data-driven decision-making. This role involves developing and maintaining logical and physical data models, facilitating database design sessions, and ensuring seamless integration across systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize data management practices, support big data initiatives, and evaluate emerging technologies. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping scalable, efficient, and innovative data solutions that drive business success.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish best practices for knowledge and data discovery to support effective data-driven decision systems.

  • Record detailed logical and physical data models in the information repository and coordinate the publication and maintenance of these models.

  • Ensure appropriate integration of models and designs across the enterprise.

  • Facilitate database design sessions and translate business requirements into logical and physical system designs for large complex projects.

  • Lead the physical database design and implementation process for large complex projects.

  • Design the optimal data presentation environment for the customer and work with various reporting tools.

  • Formulate and standardize best practices for change management, source control, and deployment methodologies for big data solutions.

  • Research and analyze data standards across the company.

  • Lead standards discussions among big data engineers, data scientists, and other team members.

  • Collaborate with the team to develop a comprehensive view of the company's strategy, processes, information, and IT assets.

  • Define best practices and internal guidelines.

  • Investigate new technologies.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field.

  • 7 years of experience in database administration, application development, data integration, data modeling, and data management.

  • 5 years of experience with system architecture and normalization considerations.

  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture modeling languages or frameworks such as ArchiMate, TOGAF, SOA, or CMMI.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing data management solutions.

  • Working knowledge of BI architecture, data warehousing concepts, and data integration best practices.

  • High level of SQL language proficiency with SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, and other database management systems.

  • Understands and can navigate complex multi-dimensional source data business systems.

Annual Pay Range:

155,600 - 175,000 USD
