Brief summary of role:

The VP, Global Sales engineering, is a strategic leadership role responsible for maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of Copado's global sales organization. This role will lead the Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, and related functions, driving initiatives that shorten sales cycles, increase win rates, and ensure consistent, high-quality customer engagements across all regions. This leader will be instrumental in scaling Copado's growth by optimizing the pre-sales process, enhancing sales enablement, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the sales organization.

What you'll be doing:

  • Global Sales Engineering Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute a global sales engineering strategy aligned with Copado's overall revenue goals and GoToMarket Strategy. This includes defining best practices, methodologies, and processes for pre-sales activities.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global team of Sales Engineers, Solutions Consultants, and related specialists. Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous professional development.
  • Pre-sales Optimization: Analyze and optimize the entire pre-sales process to shorten sales cycles, improve conversion rates, and increase deal size. This includes refining demo strategies, POC frameworks, and solution design methodologies.
  • Sales Engineering Enablement: Develop and implement comprehensive sales engineering enablement programs to equip the sales team with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to effectively sell Copado's platform. This includes training on new product features, competitive positioning, and value selling.
  • Customer Success & Value Delivery: Drive a customer-centric approach within the sales engineering organization, ensuring that pre-sales activities effectively communicate and demonstrate the value of Copado's solutions to customers.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Sales Enablement and Customer Success leadership to ensure alignment and effective execution of go-to-market strategies.
  • Performance Measurement & Analytics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sales engineering initiatives and track progress against goals. Provide regular reporting and analysis to senior leadership.
  • Technology & Innovation: Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance productivity and effectiveness, including AI-powered sales tools and automation platforms.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in pre-sales engineering, or consulting roles within the enterprise software or SaaS industry, with a focus on DevOps or cloud technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing global teams of Sales Engineers or Solutions Consultants.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing sales engineering strategies that drive measurable results.
  • Deep understanding of the sales process and methodologies, with a focus on pre-sales best practices.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand customer needs and translate them into effective solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce and the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Willingness to travel globally as needed.
