About The Role
Checkout.com is actively recruiting for a Strategic Bid Manager to join our well regarded RFP Management team in London. At Checkout.com, our Bids Team acts as both a trusted enabler and a commercial accelerator for our Strategic Accounts organisation, supporting the most high-profile and valuable enterprise sales cycles through industry-leading RFP responses and proposal delivery.
We are seeking an individual with demonstrable payments experience, and experience in either bid management or a closely-related field. This could include being part of pre-sales, marketing or commercial teams involved in business development/account management.
You’ll be leading exciting RFx opportunities across our global markets (Europe, USA, MENA and APAC), focusing on our most strategic accounts. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative environment that values growth, skill development, and impactful contributions.
This role will report to the Director of Bid Management, who is seeking a robust, capable and commercially-minded individual to join our friendly and established team; supporting the global commercial function by managing RFx activity across the group.
This role requires payments industry knowledge, strong attention to detail, a continuous improvement and quality-first mindset, and a passion for leading bid teams through to successful RFP outcomes. What you’ll be doing:
Expertly managing RFx projects end-to-end , including capture, formation and management of the bid team, and the creation and delivery of best-in-class RFP response packages.
Identification of customer pain points, development of value proposition and win themes during the bid capture phase, and subsequent incorporation of these into the bid strategy and RFP response.
Collaborating with and managing internal stakeholders and partners, including commercial, marketing, design, technical, product and functional teams including legal, compliance, information security etc.
Generating high-quality, persuasive business development materials which create a compelling case for the prospect.
Proactive and seamless management of your own workload, with multiple deadlines and workstreams.
Acting as the single point of contact for all types of RFx (including RFI, RFP and due diligence questionnaires),
Driving best bid practice throughout each RFx submission, and act as a bid champion.
Supporting with back office tasks and ad hoc bid practices (including maintenance and continuous improvement of the bid library and our collateral).
Supporting sales with presentation stages of RFP opportunities.
About you:
At least 3 years of experience within competitive enterprise and/or strategic tendering (bid/marketing/technical) or within the payments industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (native English or equivalent) with an ability to write compelling content to an international audience.
Excellent eye for detail and strong motivation to deliver to consistently high standards.
Strong team player with the ability to support and lead as required.
Highly organised self-starter with the ability to prioritise shifting workloads and tasks effectively.
Experience in expert stakeholder management, and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
Strong writing skills and the ability to translate technical jargon into straightforward, influential business development content.
A strong owner and team player with a can-do attitude and proficiency in problem-solving.
Expert cradle-to-grave bid and/or project management.
Proven commercial acumen.
Bid champion with a passion for winning RFPs.
Experience with utilising AI effectively within the RFP process.
Proficiency in G-Suite, MS Office and RFP software platforms.
