Job Description
Business Partnering & Leadership Support
Business Partnership: Build strong relationships with local leadership teams to understand business needs and provide strategic People support and guidance.
Manager Support: Serve as a trusted point of contact for Managers within your remit, offering coaching, manage performance, and bridge cultural gaps.
Global Alignment: Partner with the global People team to ensure consistency, share best practices across regions, and execute a strategy aligned with global objectives but tailored to local Mauritian nuances.
Culture & Engagement
Culture Building: Design and facilitate leadership and cultural initiatives, utilizing influencing and coaching skills to cultivate a culture that reflects our core values and operating principles.
Workshop Sessions: Drive workshop sessions with the wider location to proactively identify opportunities and actively work towards improving the work environment, and promote engagement.
Employee Experience: Drive key initiatives including Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB), leadership development, and employee engagement.
Change Management & Project Leadership
Change Champion: Lead regional change management initiatives by designing communication plans that maximize adoption.
Project Delivery: Manage end-to-end HR projects (e.g., onboarding, new policy implementation, organizational restructuring), defining clear scope, timelines, and milestones while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Risk Management: Proactively identify project risks or bottlenecks and implement mitigation strategies to keep initiatives on track.
People Operations, Compliance & Data
Operational Excellence: Support People operations in the region, ensuring strict compliance with local Mauritian labor laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze People data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and inform strategic decision-making.
Program Implementation: Help design, build, and implement programs, processes, and tools that set both managers and employees up for success.
Issue Resolution: Take ownership of resolving complex issues related to career development, engagement, compensation, training, and performance counseling.
Employee Relations (ER): Manage and take ownership of cases in your area, providing guidance to leadership on best practices and risk mitigation.
Qualifications and Requirements
To succeed in this role, the sources highlight the need for a professional who is confident advising senior leadership and navigating ambiguity.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR experience, specifically with global exposure.
Legal Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of local employment laws and regional labor legislation is essential
Skills: The role demands a data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills to solve problems proactively. You must also possess strong influencing skills for stakeholder management.
Language: Fluency in English and French is required, any other language is a plus.
