What you'll be doing:
- Lead and mentor a team of site reliability engineers (SREs), fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Oversee system reliability, ensuring that Camunda’s SaaS offering is highly available and performant.
- Provide project management support for reliability engineering initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards by coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines, and mitigating risks.
- Lead incident response efforts for system outages or performance degradation, ensuring quick resolution and postmortem analysis.
- Regularly report on system performance, reliability metrics, team progress to senior leadership and continuously evaluate and improve processes for reliability, automation and incident response.
What you bring:
- Strong domain knowledge in building, maintaining and enhancing multi-cloud infrastructure using SRE principles, practices, and tools.
- Experience in defining, measuring, and achieving SLOs and translating them into business SLAs relevant for operational day-to-day platform operations and contractual agreements.
- Solution architecture experience to drive technical decision-making and provide stakeholders with clarity on complex infrastructure challenges.
- A hands-on mentality to dive deep into technical or organizational issues as they occur and to unblock engineers by providing operational support when needed.
- Ability to think on your feet, quickly translating strategic direction into tactical and operational decisions to maintain high velocity within teams and meet ambitious timelines.
- You thrive in taking ownership of infrastructure, as well as how you deploy and operate software, embodying the 'you build it, you run it' mindset. As a forward-thinking leader, you stay current with industry best practices, continuously evolving your approach to ensure systems are built for long-term scalability, reliability, and innovation.
- Ability and/or willingness to use our product.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with Kubernetes, ideally managed offerings like EKS and GKE
- Experience with tools commonly used to enhance the management, monitoring, deployment, and operation of Kubernetes clusters and applications including ArgoCD, Prometheus, Grafana, karpenter
- Proven ability to collaborate with external vendors to optimize service delivery, troubleshoot issues, and integrate third-party solutions.

Compensation
For external hires, we consider the skills and experience of the incoming candidate, but typically place candidates in the first half of the range to ensure ample room for growth over the entire lifecycle of the role.
Below is the annual Total Target Cash Compensation (Total Cash) range for Camundi located in one of our entities. Total Cash refers to base salary and 100% attainment of variable target, where applicable. Actual Total Cash offered will depend on factors such as skills and qualifications related to the role. To comprise the Total Rewards package, Camunda also offers equity (where applicable) in the form of a Virtual Employee Stock Option Plan and benefits based on the country of residence.
The annual Total Cash range for this position for Camundi in our entities is as follows:
- United States: $157,400.00 to $236,100.00
- Germany: €104,700.00 to €157,000.00
- United Kingdom: £102,000.00 to £153,000.00
- Singapore: S$195,500.00 to S$293,300.00
