| Supplier Quality Engineer (Silicon Photonics & OSAT) Location: Hsinchu We are seeking a dynamic Supplier Quality Engineer to drive and enhance our supplier quality engagement strategies throughout the product lifecycle, from development to sustained operations. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in semiconductor manufacturing, strategic insight, and collaborative skills to optimize product design, manage supplier qualifications, and ensure high standards of quality across our global supply chain. Key Responsibilities Silicon & Photonics Strategy: - Manage Known Good Die (KGD) strategies for silicon photonics and silicon chips at the foundry level, ensuring high-yield and reliability standards are met before assembly.
- OSAT & Sample Management: Oversee sample delivery quality, including the management of packaging and testing processes at OSATs (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) to ensure prototypes and early-stage samples meet rigorous specifications.
- High-Volume Production: Drive quality stability and yield improvement for high-volume production of ELSFP (External Laser Source Form-factor Pluggable) modules, ensuring seamless scaling from NPI to HVM.
- Engagement Strategies: Develop and implement supplier quality engagement strategies, ensuring product excellence from initial development through ongoing operations.
Qualification & Documentation: - Formulate best practices for supplier product qualification; review and approve critical documents including Qualification Plans, Results, Control Plans, and FAIs (First Article Inspections).
Scalability: - Scale supplier processes and quality systems to manage increasing production volumes while aggressively minimizing DPM (Defects Per Million).
Auditing: - Conduct initial, surveillance, and for-cause audits of foundries and OSATs to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Root Cause & Corrective Action: - Lead investigations into supplier-related failures, drive RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and implement remediation plans for technical issues across various manufacturing commodities.
Strategic Sourcing: - Engage in strategic sourcing discussions to align supplier technical capabilities (Foundry/OSAT) with organizational technology roadmaps.
Cross-functional Collaboration: - Work closely with internal design and operations teams and external vendors to deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective products at scale.
Required Qualifications - Education/Experience: Proven experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, specifically within the semiconductor, silicon photonics, or optical networking industry.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of Foundry processes, OSAT workflows, and KGD (Known Good Die) methodologies.
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with ELSFP or similar pluggable optical modules and high-speed photonics packaging.
- Quality Toolkit: Strong mastery of RCA, Qualification methods (JEDEC/Telcordia standards), Control Plans, and FAI processes.
- Audit Capability: Experience conducting technical supplier audits and implementing robust corrective actions.
- Data-Driven: Ability to analyze complex yield data, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement in a high-volume environment.
- Communication: Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical stakeholders at foundries and assembly partners.
