Apollo is hiring a Product Operations Lead who knows how to make product organizations run well. You’ll build the rhythms and systems that give Product, Design, and Engineering clarity, speed, and leverage. If that sounds like your kind of problem, read on.
At Apollo, you'll help shape the future of how the world's top enterprises innovate and deliver mission-critical platforms and applications. Our customers depend on Apollo to orchestrate complex API infrastructures at scale, from traditional web services to emerging AI workloads. As we expand our product portfolio to meet evolving customer needs in the AI era, you'll be building the operational infrastructure that enables our Product, Design, and Engineering teams to ship with speed and confidence.
As our Product Operations Lead, you'll design, own, and drive the operational cadences that support our Product, Design, and Engineering (PDE) teams. You'll equip them with tools, practices, and insights, empowering them to make faster decisions and maximize the performance and impact of our products. You’ll love the entrepreneurial, collaborative, and analytical aspects of this role - and will have company-wide visibility and impact as you build out a new muscle of operational excellence at Apollo.
What you’ll do
Design and own PDE's operating rhythms and tooling - Build the cadences (roadmap reviews, product councils, launches), workflows, and tools that enable fast, effective decision-making across Product, Design, and Engineering.
Create visibility and minimize overhead - Invest in automation and self-serve data that gives the company insight into PDE execution and product performance, without making PMs write status updates.
Solve operational gaps that don't have clear owners - Identify and address coordination breakdowns, unclear decision-making processes, or strategic initiatives falling through the cracks between teams.
Scale best practices company-wide - Partner with operations leads across functions to level up coordination and execution beyond just PDE.
Who you are
You bring Product Operations expertise
Experience in Product Operations, Product Management, Management Consulting, or Strategy & Operations, with meaningful Product Ops experience in a B2B environment
You know what great operating cadences look like and have a bias for continuous improvement to keep iterating on them
You're analytically sharp
Experience running analytical efforts for cross-functional projects that have influenced product or strategic direction
You can form hypotheses from ambiguous data, design instrumentation to fill gaps, and translate insights for different audiences (PMs vs. executives vs. engineers)
You influence without needing to own decisions
Track record of driving alignment and executing complex projects with stakeholders from technical ICs to executives
Comfortable facilitating decisions in group settings and managing change, even when you're not the decision-maker
You're a self-starter who builds things
Experience owning programs end-to-end and executing in environments with incomplete information
Results-oriented with strong prioritization skills - you know when to build infrastructure vs. when to keep things scrappy
Enthusiasm for building from the ground up rather than just maintaining existing processes
Nice to have
Consulting background combined with 1-2 years of Product Management experience - you understand both strategic frameworks and product execution
Startup or founder experience - you've built things from scratch with limited resources
Technical analytical skills like SQL or data modeling - you can dig into data yourself rather than waiting for analytics support
Experience with developer platforms, API infrastructure, or B2B technical products - you'll ramp faster on Apollo's domain
Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
Tools we use:
Claude/Cursor/Github/Omni
Jira/Atlas/Confluence
Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
GCP
GraphQL (though we sorta hoped you’d assumed that by now 😉)
About Apollo
Apollo helps teams build, operate, and scale the graphs that power modern applications. If you’ve streamed a show, booked a trip, or read the news online, there’s a good chance Apollo was working quietly behind the scenes. We support some of the largest and most sophisticated GraphQL platforms in the world.
But we’re not here just to maintain the status quo. Apollo is redefining how software teams build and ship- bringing clarity, speed, and leverage to increasingly complex systems. Our platform gives teams a single, coherent way to connect clients, services, and now AI-powered experiences, without drowning in endpoints or bespoke integrations.
Just as importantly, we’re building a company where ambitious people can do the best work of their careers. That means meaningful ownership, smart teammates, and tackling hard problems that actually matter. If you like moving fast, thinking deeply, and helping shape what comes next, you’ll feel right at home here.
