What You’ll Do
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex incidents (root cause, permanent fixes, post‑incident improvements)
- Lead root‑cause analysis, define permanent fixes, and ensure lessons learned are embedded through documentation and process improvements
- Take ownership of technically challenging problems and see them through end‑to‑end, from investigation to resolution and follow‑up
- Lead technical workstreams for initiatives such as office moves, network and firewall refreshes, cloud and hybrid improvements, and acquired‑company integrations
- Work closely with vendors, internal stakeholders, and other IT teams to deliver changes safely and effectively
- Improve platform reliability and performance through proactive monitoring, automation, patching, and repeatable operational processes
- Work closely with the Information Systems team to support audit readiness and evidence capture aligned to ISO27001, SOC, and internal control frameworks
- Work closely with the Cyber Security team to ensure security best practices are embedded across identity, endpoint, network, and infrastructure platforms
- Contribute to continuous improvement of security posture, resilience, and risk management
- Provide day‑to‑day technical direction and mentoring to engineers; help them develop deeper expertise and confidence
- Set clear expectations around ownership, accountability, quality, and follow‑through
- Support individual development, progression planning, and readiness for increased responsibility
- Partner with IT Operations leadership on workload planning, risk management, and delivery priorities
- Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive)
- Azure fundamentals (networking, compute, storage, monitoring)
- Entra ID (Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, identity protection, RBAC)
- Intune / Endpoint Management (Autopilot, compliance, configuration profiles, app deployment)
- Windows Server (AD DS, GPO, DNS/DHCP, certificates/PKI, file services)
- Virtualization (VMware vSphere and/or Hyper‑V), backup/restore concepts, DR fundamentals
- Linux fundamentals (admin, troubleshooting, services)
- LAN/WAN/WLAN fundamentals (routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs)
- Firewall concepts (policy, NAT, IPS/IDS) and secure remote access / Zero Trust principles
- Secure baseline thinking: least privilege, segmentation, patching, logging/monitoring
- Scripting/automation
- Monitoring & alerting concepts, incident management, problem management
- Documentation discipline: runbooks, KBs, standard operating procedures
