Alteryx is searching for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our growing team. This position will be based in Prague, working with teams to design, implement, and evolve test automation frameworks and tools that enable rapid, high-quality delivery of Alteryx products.

Position Overview

The Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Senior SDET) will join a team of highly passionate engineers who will be responsible for delivering quality systems in the Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project requirements to determine effective test strategies for new and existing functionality.

  • Create, execute, track and maintain manual and automated functional and regression test suites.

  • Design and implement testing strategy, architecture and technology.

  • Monitor automated testing results of products during development and prior to public releases.

  • Possess the understanding and the ability to perform effective manual testing.

  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.

  • Ensure documentation properly describes functionality of our software.

  • Promote a culture of rigorous automated testing across all products on our team.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Developer, Software Development Engineer in Test or Software Quality Engineer.

  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • Extensive experience with test automation, preferably with frameworks such as TestCafe, Selenium, Playwright, TestNG or similar tools.

  • Proficiency and experience with object-oriented programming languages like Java, Python, Javascript and/or TypeScript.

  • Experience with testing REST API.

  • Experience with source code controls and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience database, SQL, Unix/Linux commands, shell scripting.

  • Experience with DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes.

  • Experience testing web-based applications in different browsers hosted on AWS/Azure/GCP.

  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted tools in development and test workflows.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate successfully with both local and remote team members.

Valued Skills

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum driven development environment.

  • Experience of big data ecosystem, data warehouse, ETL.

  • Experience with GitOps and package manager tools like ArgoCD, Helm.

  • Experience with Performance, Security and additional NFR testing.

  • Frequent communication with US - willingness to participate on occasional meetings at late hours (due to time difference).
