Job Title: Legal Operations Manager

Reports To: Sr. Director, Corporate Legal

About the Role

We are seeking a Legal Operations Manager to lead and execute strategic initiatives that drive operational excellence, automation, and enablement across the Legal department. As the Legal Operations Manager, you will own the processes, systems, and initiatives that allow Legal to scale effectively, deliver services faster, and align with broader company goals. You will also help the Chief Legal Officer and Legal leadership with reporting and analytics and shape the department’s operational strategy. This role will report to the Sr. Director, Corporate Legal.

Key Responsibilities

Technology & Process Optimization

  • Manage integration and optimization of core legal technology solutions (e.g., CLM, eBilling, service/matter management, knowledge and policy hubs) and drive adoption/use through training, documentation, and change management strategies.

  • Shape and influence the department’s technology roadmap, including develop and implement automation, analytics, and AI solutions, in alignment with Legal’s long-term strategy

  • Drive continuous process improvements and provide operational support across key areas, including contracting, internal service request and delivery, compliance, dispute/litigation management, and outside counsel/vendor management.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Define and develop metrics, reports, and dashboards to measure progress on operational efficiency, effectiveness, and performance and inform decision-making and resource planning.

  • Surface trends and insights to leadership to identify opportunities for improvements and guide strategic priorities.

Project Management & Strategy

  • Act as the hub for Legal’s operational projects, leading or supporting initiatives to provide structure, alignment, and accountability.

  • Serve as the Legal liaison on cross-functional operational projects, representing Legal’s needs, anticipating downstream impacts, and driving consistency across teams and systems.

  • Partner with Legal leadership, including the Chief Legal Officer, in to define, drive, and execute the department’s strategy, goals, initiatives, and KPIs.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience, including direct legal operations experience with an in-house legal department, which may be combined with other relevant areas such as business process improvement, legal technology, and project/program management.

  • Base understanding of the core functions and processes of an in-house legal department, including contracting, internal service request and delivery, compliance, dispute/litigation management, and outside counsel/vendor management.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-impact operational initiatives and drive process, system, or organizational change.

  • Experience with legal technology and other related business platforms (e.g., CLM, eBilling, service/matter management, CRM, artificial intelligent solutions, reporting and analytics tools) and a strong aptitude for learning, adopting, and optimizing new technology.

  • Experience generating and presenting operational reports or dashboards.

  • Excellent organizational, project management, communication, collaboration/stakeholder management, and analytic skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate between technical, legal, and business needs, drive alignment across functions, and influence stakeholders.

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a high-growth or dynamic environment.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with some of the following tools and platforms: DocuSign CLM, SimpleLegal, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Asana, SharePoint, Alteryx, Tableau.

  • Experience shaping the legal operations roadmap and contributing to department-level strategy.

  • Advanced skills with reporting and analytics, including the ability to design workflows and dashboards.

  • Formal education or training or professional certifications in a relevant field.

Compensation

Alteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.

The salary range for this role in California, Colorado, Washington, Texas, and Rhode Island is $152,000 - $174,800.

In addition, you may be eligible for other compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including medical, retirement, financial, wellness, time off, employee discounts, and others.
