Alteryx is searching for a Governance Analyst. This position is remote-friendly.
Position Overview:
As a Governance Analyst on the Alteryx Analytics Governance and Infrastructure team, you will play a critical role in safeguarding and optimizing our enterprise analytics environments. You will be primarily responsible for administering governance processes, managing access controls, and ensuring compliance across key platforms including Snowflake and DataHub. By collaborating with Analytics, IT, Legal, and Security teams, you will help establish trusted, scalable governance practices that support data-driven decision making. Primary Responsibilities:
Administer enterprise governance processes with a primary focus on Snowflake and DataHub, ensuring data consistency, trust, and security.
Manage end-to-end environment access request workflows across Snowflake, Tableau, and Alteryx, ensuring timely resolution in line with SLAs.
Partner with DataHub stakeholders to maintain metadata quality, drive asset cataloging, and enforce governance policies.
Monitor governance and analytics support channels, triage incoming requests, and escalate appropriately to meet stakeholder needs.
Conduct quarterly and ad-hoc access reviews across Snowflake and other platforms, ensuring compliance with audit, legal, and data privacy standards.
Collaborate with Legal, Security, and Data teams to align governance practices with enterprise data lifecycle and privacy requirements.
Maintain and improve governance documentation, SOPs, and user-facing content for Snowflake and DataHub processes.
Identify and recommend opportunities for automation, efficiency, and governance process improvements.
Use your innate problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and internal drive to continually grow, develop, and hone your craft.
Be fanatical about data governance and help evangelize our work, team, and Alteryx as a whole!
Required Qualifications:
2–5 years of experience in Data Governance, Analytics, or Business Intelligence functions.
Hands-on experience with Snowflake administration and governance (access control, roles, policies).
Familiarity with DataHub or other enterprise data catalog/governance platforms.
Intermediate SQL experience.
Understanding of data access, security, and compliance requirements.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with geographically distributed teams and across functions.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Valued Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in Information Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related technical field.
Experience with Tableau and Alteryx governance/administration.
Familiarity with data privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA) and audit/compliance processes.
Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar tools for request intake and governance process management.
Exposure to governance methodologies, role-based access control frameworks, and metadata management.
Experience supporting or working in large-scale enterprise analytics environments.
Compensation:
Alteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
The salary range for this role in the United States is $95,000 - $125,000.
