We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient ServiceNow CMDB Analyst to join our Enterprise Service Management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the Alteryx ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring accuracy, integrity, and optimal performance across on-premise and cloud environments. This role will play a pivotal part in establishing robust integrations, ensuring compliance with internal standards, and enabling strategic initiatives such as IT Asset Management, Service Mapping, and Audit Readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Discovery & Integration
- Configure and manage Discovery Schedules and Discovery Patterns to support automated population of the CMDB.
- Create and manage MID Servers to support discovery across various network segments and security zones.
- Establish secure data ingestion pipelines for cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) using native ServiceNow capabilities or APIs.
- Collaborate with hardware and infrastructure teams to ensure consistent and accurate ingestion of physical asset data.
2. Governance & Compliance
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Compliance teams to ensure CMDB data adheres to governance and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain CI attestation processes to support internal and external audits.
- Monitor and manage CI lifecycle events, data normalisation, and health dashboards.
- Implement data archiving rules and strategies to manage stale or obsolete records and maintain ongoing CMDB data quality.
3. Model & Structure Maintenance
- Maintain and evolve the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) structure to align with ServiceNow best practices.
- Ensure accurate classification and mapping of Configuration Items (CIs) to services, applications, and business capabilities.
4. Relationship Management & Data Mapping
- Work with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain CI relationships with downstream systems, applications, and services.
- Manage and enhance Service Graph Connectors to streamline data onboarding from external sources.
5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with product owners, developers, and operations to ensure CMDB supports key ITSM and ITOM workflows.
- Proactively identify and remediate data quality issues; contribute to CMDB-related initiatives and tool upgrades.
- Provide training, documentation, and support for CMDB-related processes to internal stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of proven experience managing or supporting the ServiceNow CMDB in a complex enterprise environment.
- Hands-on expertise with Discovery Patterns, MID Server deployments, and Service Graph Connectors.
- Strong working knowledge of cloud integrations (AWS, Azure, GCP) with ServiceNow.
- Experience implementing and maintaining the CSDM framework.
- Proven ability to work with compliance, architecture, and infrastructure teams to drive data quality and governance.
- Understanding of ITIL, especially Configuration Management and Asset Management practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – CMDB or Discovery.
- Familiarity with scripting (JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.) for CMDB enhancement and customisation.
- Experience in enabling CI attestation and audit-readiness workflows.
- Knowledge of data archiving practices within ServiceNow and their role in data lifecycle management.
- Exposure to broader ServiceNow ITOM and ITSM modules.

- Detail-oriented with a focus on data quality and process improvement.
- Proactive problem solver with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
