The Deal Desk Analyst’s primary responsibility will be to manage the deal closure process. This involves ensuring accuracy of sales quotes, discounting, and legal terms. This role will also assist in simplifying the workflow of the deal approval process and drafting of contracts for all the types of deals, using standard templates and common business terms.
The Deal Desk Analyst will partner with the Sales, Finance, Legal, and Revenue Operations teams to provide administrative support to the Global Field Sales organization.
The Deal Desk Analyst will report to the Manager, Deal Desk Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Quotes and Order Forms are approved within pricing and discount policies.
- Ensure opportunities are accurately entered and properly booked in the CRM tool.
- Work with Finance to ensure all deals have the appropriate booking packages. This includes fully executable agreements and proof of delivery.
- Assisting Sales with quotes, approvals, and order forms.
- Provide proactive support and guidance to the sales team to help drive new deals as well as up-sell opportunities.
- Interface with Accounting, Finance and Legal as needed (i.e., revenue recognition).
- Maintain an agreed upon SLA on deal turnaround times.
- Interface with other members of Deal Desk and Finance/Accounting to ensure accuracy of booked sales opportunities.
- Train and provide 1:1 support for sales reps and other quote-to-close technology users. Includes helping reps build out quotes (as needed) and own support tickets where reps are experiencing technical issues.
- Read, interpret, redline, and escalate contractual language to ensure transactions comply with revenue recognition and business operational policies.
- Assist the Field Organization during the customer/contracting lifecycle, from Lead-to-Quote, Contract-to-Order, Booking-to-Renewal/Up-sell.
- Help drive projects and initiatives focused on improving efficiency and simplifying processes throughout the sales operations and sales organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 2+ years of experience in a Deal Desk, Finance, Sales Operations, or Revenue role.
- 2+ Years of SaaS/Software/Tech experience
- Experience in Order Management/Administration in a fast-growing software enterprise.
- Experience with SFDC CRM, sales processes and related tools in the quote to close process.
- Experience with and good understanding of software licensing and contracting.
- Experience with quote and contract creation technical solutions.
- Adept at business partnering and working with cross-functional teams, building meaningful business relationships along the way.
- Strong business acumen, strong reporting and analytics, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to prioritize to meet business needs.
- A thorough understanding of the sales process and the ability to navigate and progress long, complex sales cycles.
