CV/ML/Optics/Algorithms Internships

Glass Imaging is offering internships for current PhD students and recent MS/PhD grads. A background in Deep Learning, Computer Vision Algorithms, Imaging or optics is desired; you would have the chance to work on advanced problems in real-world computational photography.

You would have the opportunity to work alongside industry leaders, helping bring the latest cutting edge CV models into production on embedded devices and smartphones, from researching, developing and training Deep Learning models and imaging algorithms, to optimizing them for high throughput real time imaging applications.

You’d be joining a unique team of creative and enthusiastic engineers with a passion and track record for revolutionizing the world of photography.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong Python skills + working knowledge of C/C++
• Expertise with Deep Learning implementations and model architecture design for imaging (e.g. UNet, Pix2Pix, GANs, Image Transformers,...) with PyTorch or Tensorflow
• Strong mathematical & research skills - e.g. optimization, physical simulation, modeling
• Model optimization & ML Ops experience - hyperparameter tuning, model compression, distributed training, building efficient data loaders & image preprocessing pipelines
• Familiarity with image processing, graphics & ML / Computer Vision algorithms, e.g.:
• ISP-style functions (demosaic, denoise, HDR etc)
• Inverse imaging: Super-resolution, deconvolution, inpainting
• knowledge of camera calibration, optics, lens design, color science, image quality
• Computational photography methods
• Passion for keeping up to date with, and implementing, the latest AI research
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills, strong self motivation
• Published papers in relevant technical conferences (CVPR, ICCP, ICCV, NeurIPS etc).
• Recently completed an MSc in a related technical field, or current/finishing PhD student

Desired Experience:

• Good software engineering skills
• Android or iOS development experience
• Embedded device ML model optimizations: quantization, compression / sparsification, converting models for dedicated embedded AI hardware (e.g. Qualcomm/Apple)
• Classical CV skills - Stereo Depth estimation, Guided/Bilateral filtering, feature matching; iterative algorithms, BLAS; Libraries such as OpenCV
• Embedded / low level real-time algorithm implementations:
• GPU optimizations; general parallel programming techniques with e.g. OpenCL Vulkan, CUDA, Metal, OpenGL, SIMD, Assembly may be useful.
• Worked with solutions tailored to Qualcomm Snapdragon GPUs/ISP/DSP
• Knowledge of GPU Kernel performance tuning, profiling, cache usage, memory access patterns / architecture optimization
• Low level device drivers, hardware interfaces, image sensors, FPGA implementations
