WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance Ruby on Rails applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, operations, and sales, to gather requirements and create high-quality software solutions.
- Lead architectural design and implementation of new features and enhancements.
- Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and enforce coding standards and best practices.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
- Ensure the applications meet security and performance standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the development process.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- A highly skilled Senior Developer with 5+ years of Ruby on Rails experience.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of building scalable and high-performance Ruby on Rails applications.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API principles, API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger, Postman), and security standards.
- Ability to mentor and guide a team while also being a great team player.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the development of Ruby on Rails applications, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and high-performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to define and implement new features and enhancements.
- Review code and ensure adherence to best practices in Git, API security, and coding standards.
- Troubleshoot and optimize applications for maximum performance and efficiency.
- Participate in team meetings and provide constructive feedback.
- Be proactive in identifying potential issues and suggest improvements.
- Occasionally work in USA time zones (9am EST – 5pm EST).
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- At least 5 years of experience in Ruby on Rails development with a deep understanding of the framework’s principles and best practices.
- Proficiency with Git, including branching, merging, and managing code repositories.
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and familiarity with API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman).
- Familiarity with database systems like PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience with React or other front-end frameworks is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to understand complex systems quickly.
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience or understanding of DevOps is a plus.
- Security domain experience is a plus but not mandatory.
