Sr. Payroll Analyst

The Role
Leads payroll processing and employee file maintenance functions for US, to ensure the accurate and timely payment of wages. The responsibilities include payroll inputs, verification, benefit deductions, reconciliations, garnishments, and year end processing. Our ideal candidate will have Oracle Fusion Payroll experience. They will develop and maintain strong internal customer relationships by addressing questions and escalations with accuracy, a sense of urgency, and professionalism. This role reports to the Manager, Payroll.
Role Responsibilities:
- Process a Weekly or Bi-Weekly multi-state payroll consisting of non-exempt employees
- Employee master file maintenance: processing new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposit, time sheet data, retroactive adjustments, and special payments as applicable
- Compliant, accurate and timely execution of regularly scheduled and supplemental payrolls
- Maintains employee taxes, social security, and other applicable records
- Generation and distribution of employee payments (direct deposits)
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
- Support all payroll related internal and external audits
- Initiate and develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure proper communication and execution of payroll initiatives
- Performs analysis of complex pay transactions to identify issues that exist; works with various internal operational teams to identify root cause of payroll system issues, assess risk, and implement mitigation plans to minimize or eliminate future occurrence.
- Performs special projects as assigned such as: annual salary adjustments, bonus cycle, year-end, equity transactions, etc.
- Assist with reporting for Finance Team
- Assist with processing garnishments
Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- 3-7 years of multi-state payroll processing experience
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as organizational skills
- Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Drive & self-motivation with the ability to work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and vendors.
- Ability to successfully handle numerous priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Good problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
- Professional, dependable, and able to maintain confidential information
- Team oriented and able to be flexible to adjust to critical needs as they arise
- Payroll tax knowledge is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills are a must
- APA Certification is a plus
- Oracle Fusion Payroll knowledge is desirable
