Meet your team

You will be part of the Cloud Platform team and work with other DevOps Engineers and Backend Engineers on improving the productivity of our product teams and the reliability of our services.

What you will do

Here at Choco, we like to use the space shuttle as a metaphor for our engineering work. You will join us and help take the shuttle to the moon. You will take part in building a platform that enables product teams to autonomously develop, test, deploy and operate their stack in a secure and reliable way. We want you to be the all-seeing-eye of our entire infrastructure, keep our systems healthy, speed up product development and increase the quality of our services. Your contribution will not only directly impact Choco but even the users of our products themselves.

• In the 1st month you will have the space, support and mentoring to understand our product, the infrastructure behind it and obtain any missing information or skill that’s needed for you to effectively contribute.

• In months 2 and 3 you will be fully operational, independent, take stories on your own and run with them. You will dig deeper to understand the core of complex issues and provide reliable solutions that will stand the test of time.

• Over time you will be able to shape the direction of our platform, contribute to engineering wide architecture discussions and collaborate with stakeholders throughout the company.

Our tech stack in the Cloud Platform team

We have a cutting-edge environment and heavily use AWS AppSync, CloudFormation, CDK, CodePipeline, DynamoDB, Lambdas, CodePipeline, AWS SQS/SNS and more.

We also use tools like TypeScript, Python, Datadog, ELK, Epsagon, GraphQL, NodeJS, Postgres and many others.

What you will need to have an impact with us

• 4+ years of experience as DevOps / SRE / CI/CD engineer or similar

• 2+ years of working with AWS Cloud services (serverless is a big plus) or similar

• Experience working with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD. Our current tools are CloudFormation/CDK and Github Actions/AWS CodePipeline but we are very open to expertise in alternative tools (eg. Terraform and Jenkins).

• Experience in optimizing build processes and simplifying deployments

• Scripting / coding skills to write tooling and automation (e.g. Python, Typescript/Javascript or similar)

• Some experience in cloud governance, service administration and/or cost controlling would be a plus

• Excellent written and spoken communication, being a self-directed learner and great self-organisational skills will be absolutely key to your success with us

You will impress us even more if you have

• Experience in information security

• Experience with incident management and/or resilience engineering

• Experience in observability across all dimensions (logging, metrics, traces)
