Company Description

We’re Checkout.com. You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we’re behind many of the digital experiences you use every day.

We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions daily for more than one billion global shoppers.

Whether you want to book a holiday, order food, renew a subscription, or check out online, there’s a good chance our tech powers the payments behind the scenes. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale.

If you want to do career-defining work, you’ve come to the right place. We move fast, think globally, and believe great teams are built by hiring exceptional people with conviction, curiosity, and the desire to make an impact.

With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we’re shaping the future of fintech – and we’re just getting started.

Working as part of our Cost of Sales Operations function, you will support and optimize the scheme fees reconciliation of Card Schemes and other acquiring and issuing channels. You are expected to go beyond simple task execution by validating the "why" behind financial data and proactively suggesting improvements to team efficiency.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Financial Validation: Validate the financial story of COS reconciliations and challenge data inputs for accuracy across straightforward projects.

  • Insight Generation: Summarize insights clearly and explain the underlying reasons for data queries to internal partners.

  • Process Optimization: Use your knowledge of existing processes to identify gaps and document efficiencies that minimize manual effort in routine tasks.

  • Self-Management: Proactively manage your own time and workload effectively, volunteering for project tasks that align with department KPIs.

  • Audit Readiness: Define and validate assumptions and methodologies before starting work to ensure absolute auditability of reports.

  • Stakeholder Prioritization: Act as a responsive and proactive partner, prioritizing tasks based on stakeholder urgency and business impact.

  • Reconciliation Improvement: Consistently introduce new controls and help document detailed reconciliation processes to support scaling.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: What we’re looking for

  • 2+ years of hands-on Finance Analyst, or other relevant roles' experience in financial services and/or in payments processing

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with motivation to find end-to-end solutions

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and with remote teams

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with complex datasets

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in an evolving environment and sometimes shifting priorities

  • Willingness to take the initiative and continuously learn

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel required

  • Experience with SQL server and BI tools is a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/numerical subject or partly qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)

  • Fluency in English, and superb communication skills at all levels

  • Knowledge of Interchange and Scheme Fees, Card Schemes and Payments Processing will be an advantage.
